Battle Rules
In order to battle in Stylefest you must purchase an appropriate ticket
Competitors must be 15 years old or above to battle
Preliminary rounds will consist of freestyle performances. No battles will take place during this time.
Preliminaries are available for a maximum of 30 dancers in each style. During the preliminaries, the top 8 performers will be selected to battle on the main stage to compete for the title. This is the ONLY time that top 8 battlers will be selected.
You can compete in more than one style. You do not need to purchase any further tickets to compete in more than one style.
All final battle competitors must be registered and in the Stratford Circus building by 6:30pm on Sunday 13th April. If you are not present, you will forfeit your battle place.
During the battles, there will be two rounds for each competitor in the quarter finals and semi finals, with three rounds for the finals in each style.
You may be asked for a final round from the judges if the battle was close.
Judges + host decision is final.
Touching your opponent, unnecessary aggression and bad attitude/sportsmanship may lead to disqualification at the discretion of the host + judges.
Disrupting your opponents throwdown (i.e. Running onto the floor whilst they are still performing) may lead to disqualification at the discretion of the host + judges.
Battles will be judged on: Technical ability, Style content, Performance ability, Musicality & Battle tactics.
